My husband collected a whole bunch of fitness equipment, and I can clearly say that even thought we have number of exercising machines in the basement some of them are closer to my heart than others.

He got LC-985VG on sale. First we were thinking to go with a cheaper version, like Orbitrek or so, but then he decided to look around for more professional piece of equipment. Luckily we didn’t rush, because even though this is one heavy piece of serious exercising equipment, it is exactly that, serious machine for a serious workout.

This is the best buy for the money! Period. Your knees will not hurt as if you were working out on a regular treadmill. It’s fun, it’s serious, and the only thing you will need in addition to this is a video or more of them to watch while you exercise.

I have read most of the reviews and have purchased 2 of these. One for me and one for my wife. We are avid road cyclists and I also mountain bike. We were looking for something to get us through the days when we just couldn’t find time to ride. The bikes were well packaged and very easy to assemble. Most of the complaints by people are simply set up issues. One guy complained about the dash cover and water bottle holder, those are self tapping screws you simply need to put some elbow to it.



Another complained about the upright moving, you need to tighten the 3 screws on the bottom of the upright with a leverage tube slipped over the end of the allen wrench to snug up the bolts and lock washers. Another complained about the seat and I will agree the seat is not the best but the problem for me was the angle of the seat kept making me slip off the front, so I removed the bracket from the bottom of the seat and put 2 nuts the same size and threading underneath the front of the bracket and re-installed the bracket and seat. That brought the front of the seat up enough that I wasn’t sliding off anymore. I probably will add a padded seat cover in the future, but for now the main problem is fixed. The bottom line is this bike is excellent for what you get for your money. I have only had them a short time, so I can’t swear by them reliability wise. However the warranty is on par with other manufacturers and this was the most bang for the buck in my opinion.

I am new to spinning and purchased this spin bike with the hopes of getting on it every day because of the rave reviews of spin class. I refuse to pay for gym membership when I can own my equipment for the price of an annual membership fee. Seems like a good bike but not if your a tall person. I’m 6 ft and when i sit in the seat my knee’s hit the bottom of the U shaped handle bar every time i pedal.

I purchased the bike July 2008 per my doctor’s request after arthroscopic knee surgery. Can’t use the treadmill anymore. I’m at 45 minutes every day. It’s a great workout. The bike is comfortable and durable. I would recommend to anyone.

Customers say: After trying this and other machines at my local retail store, my wife and I decided to purchase the Freestrider 35S. Unlike traditional ellipticals, this machine doesn’t make my knees hurt or feel uncomfortable. I’m 6ft tall so I also really enjoy the range of motion that it offers. Also you can focus on either your legs or upper body which is nice. Lastly, I read online that some people think that the machine is loud…I don’t agree with that. The fan is loud if you turn it on but otherwise I don’t find the noise of the machine bothersome. On the negative side I do think there are a few things that have some room for improvement: 1. The angle of the fan can’t be adjusted. Since I’m tall, the fan basically points at the middle of my chest and not my face. My wife (who is shorter) still thinks the fan needs adjustment. 2. The display screen brightness can’t be adjusted. Sometimes at night I like to turn down the lights and when you do that the screen seems really bright. I wish there was an adjustment for it. 3. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH iFIT cards!! I’m not happy with being forced to use the subscription-based iFit Live product when other NordicTrack products support the iFit Cards (which you only pay for once). I think in comparison to the high quality and innovation of the machine these gripes are relatively minor…however if they were addressed I would definitely give it 5 stars.

I bought this machine because I wanted to go hiking in the mountains and knew that I needed to find someway to get in shape and ready for a good hike. So I figured the incline trainer was the best for me. I’ve had this machine for about 2 weeks now and have been really impressed with it. Didn’t know if I would like the orange background for the display, but when it came it was green and easy to read. I was really happy with that. It has been great. Machine is very heavy to move so make sure that you put it where you want it to stay before setting it up. It took me and my husband probably 2 hous to set up. Not real easy but OK. When I received it, that cup holders were missing. I called Nordic Track and they will be shipping them out soon. Not sure when I will receive them. All in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their lower body in good shape. It is definitely a good workout. The preset workouts seem good. I used one yesterday. Definitely a good sweat and GREAT work out. I will review this product again after I have used it for a while. I am definitely happy with my purchase.
